Portable shop

In preparation for this journey I have built up what I call my portable shop. It is a collection of smaller hand tools with some cordless tools. Some corded tools are also part of the shop. Each element was chosen with portability, light weight, reliability, and power consumption in mind. Here are some of its elements..

Cordless tools

Batteries are getting better and more powerful all the time. It is now possible to replace almost all your corded hand power tools with cordless versions.

Pneumatic tools

An air compressor is very handy to have and it can provide power to all sorts of tools. Due to a wrist injury, I cannot use a hammer for very long. The pneumatic air nailer is a very important part of my tool set. They solve many more problems than a sore wrist.

Workbench

A good sturdy workbench along with sawhorses make any job easier.

tool boxes

All these tools need to be stored in various boxes. Weight of a box is of concern so several tool boxes will be used, each according to anticipated jobs.

Other tools

I would like to have a portable table saw and portable drill press along but I do not know if the financial, space, or weight budgets will allow them. I am tempted to not even worry about it and get them only if needed.
