The vises are faced with oak. I ran out of 8/4 so they are built up with two layers of 4/4 Oak.
The end vise is of three layers. The extra layer was because of the extra width. The extra material will reduce flex in the faces but will have no affect in the flex of the vise posts.
End vise installed and open.
Here you can see the vise and tool tray. The cutout along the bottom was not intentional. It is just that that is what wood I had available.
